who I am

Hi,  my name is Gavriella and I'm 24 years old with a completed BA in Behavioral Science at Ariel University. I worked as a special education teacher at a local high school during my studies. This line of work was challenging but extremely rewarding. It taught me so much about patience and understanding and I can't wait to see all the future accomplishments of my students. Towards the end of the second year of my degree, I realized that I always had a part of me that wanted to pursue design outside of my sketch pads and acrylic.  Design has always been a part of me, but never did I have a chance to implement it. That summer I applied for my first UX Foundations through Designlab.

During UX Academy I felt that many of the theories I studied helped me understand how to design more efficiently. I knew many theories in depth thanks to a few courses I took in cognitive psychology during my BA. In addition, the years I spent working with children and adults, if it was during my national service or my time working in special education, helped me get a better understanding of how to build a product with keeping the needs and wants of a client and balancing those needs with the user.

After completing UX Academy I know now that I love the research that goes into the first steps of creating a product, I enjoy the challenge of Figuring out based on research how the product should be built with a sitemap, and I love the choosing of the UI kit and all the icons and color palette that it includes. Even the wireframes which could sometimes feel exhausting and lifeless are enjoyable and give me a sense of satisfaction once completed. I believe that my art and design background and my experience working in education and my Behavioral Science degree have made me a deeply sensitive designer who can quickly identify user needs and turn them into meaningful, beautiful solutions. In the next few years in my career as a designer, I hope to work with a kind group of talented designers in an environment that can help me grow as a designer and help me reach my full potential.
